and even MORE food. It seems like it might be logical that I missed my kitchen while I was gone, but the reality of it is that my sister’s kitchen is very much like my kitchen. One difference being that she’s way more organized in her thoughts on dinner. Mine are usually gathered at 3:30 when it’s rushing to figure out how to have enough time to put it together and of course oftentimes having to do a last minute run for SOMETHING. One day I’ll be organized… Oh, another major difference — hers is full of pottery. almost exclusively handmade pottery… mixing granola, for example — a task I do every few days at home was like a treat when mixing it in beautiful pottery!
Perhaps I’ll post food photos from there shortly — but for today, food photos from my kitchen.
:: green thai curry paste. delicious.
:: pizza party for 7 adults, 2 kids and 2 babies (ok – the babies aren’t eating yet) and lots of left overs. four pizzas. worked out beautifully.
:: salad for above lunch party, by my mom.
:: cake for same bunch of family members.
:: a modified recipe — a citrus brown rice salad. In keeping with tradition — it was my new recipe to try out on two of our friends that I always try new things on. it was DELICIOUS.
:: cedar smoked salmon on the BBQ — our first delicious attempt. more to come for sure.
:: pizza for different friends, on a different day, almost a week later. On “friday night, pizza night.” lovely to share food with great company.
:: What comes of deciding at 3:30 pm that you would in fact like to serve desert even though you decided earlier you wouldn’t. Also known as the ‘thrown-together-in-minutes’ desert. lovely.
