Custom Yarn & Silks by 4 1/2 year olds.

Dyeing Wool + Silk
Friday we were hit with a very icy day — after a 4 minute treck outside it was decided that falling on one’s bum and getting fully soaked on wet ice was just not a nice way to spend the morning. Therefore we spent it at the kitchen table dyeing wool… and silks.

I’m supposed to turn their wool into mittens & scarves. I better get to it. Granted, at this rate it does seem like winter might stick around forever here… it’s playing tricks on my knitting queue!

The kids LOVE this craft — and they do it quite well, it’s amazing really.

… the blue/green are food colouring and the pink/purple are kool-aid. We used the microwave method for the silks.
