WIP — A bright summer dress
A friend of mine gave me about 900 yards of this cotton last Thursday — and I knew Elizabeth would love it. I wasn’t sure what to knit with it – but after [too much time] a visit to Ravelry I decided on the Rainbow Dress. As the knitted dress is coming along, I wasn’t super loving the yarn choice but kept reminding myself “hey, this is basically a free dress. deal!” and then Elizabeth tried it on. It’s soooo beautiful on her. It fits her perfectly — it’s a gorgeous pattern… and red fits her well. (the yarn itself is so difficult to photograph — it’s actually a fushia-ish and an orange yarn but knitted up it looks red!)
I love this dress on her so much that I ordered Cotton/Linen yesterday for another dress. (not for Elizabeth) it’s border line crazy — because I know when I’m done her dress I’ll be slightly sick of it (that’s a lot of stockinette — although it does knit up quickly it seems — but then again, i’ve got many inches to go before I can call it a dress!) I figure if I get really tired, I can call the second project a top — because it would make a gorgeous top!
On with the work in progress photos of my 3 1/2 yr old who loves the camera…
