Salt Dough Fun

First, take 4 cups of flour (in this case most of it is bread flour cause i’m out of regular white flour) and add one cup of salt.

Allow for loads of play time, because frankly my children prefer to play with flour than just about ANY other ‘thing’. When you think maybe they’re done — allow for even MORE time.

Take a second to notice you should have put aprons on the kids. And of course to appreciate your 3 year old’s sense of ‘self’ in his clothing choice (and backward pants!).

Make a deal with them to add the cup and a bit of water (which of course you totally have to wing at this point considering you have no idea how much flour/salt remains). This turns into a dough. Ask them to kneed like mama, and take no offense when this is the face your daughter makes. (or should I? haha)

Roll out the dough and cut out shapes. The remainder of the dough is to be played with over and over and over until it crumbles.

The best part is still to come since the only thing that rivals flour for Elizabeth might be paint!
