WIP Wednesday: a hat, a sweater and a sweater.

Alexandre’s sweater – nearly completed! 🙂 This is my very first sweater ever — and I’m incredibly pleased 🙂

Alexandre's Sweater

Elizabeth’s birthday sweater that I just started — and I’m worried it’s not going to work out — but I’m going to knit a bit more to see… I’m not sure of my needle choice — my gauge test looked good (not knit in garter stitch of course) but i’m not sure i’m sold on the garter stitch with this gauge – a little worried it’s too delicate, we’ll see soon!

This yarn is organic cotton from knit picks and it’s knitting up quite softly 🙂
The pattern is a top down garter stitch yoke vest found for free on Ravelry!

Elizabeth's sweater

And finally — a hat, one of a few I’m making for loot bags for the kids birthday party coming up in 2 1/2 weeks! (omg. must work faster!!)
A loot bag Hat.

Still have 2 waldorf dolls to start & finish. oops.

  1. So close now–that yarn really looks lovely with the placket neck pattern. Good luck with your daughter’s sweater–I’m not a huge fan of garter myself, probably because I feel like my stitches don’t look as good as my stockinette do.

    I love the stripey hat!

  2. Congrats on your first sweater, that’s great! The first sweaters I ever knitted back in February was the 5- hour baby sweater. I did two for a set of twins, came out cute took more like 10+ hours each sweater but they were lovely. Then I did the Placket sweater you’re doing…this was for another friends baby, I don’t know what or how it happened but I think the placket was on backwards…A few buttons made it work just fine and the mom was left handed so it all worked out..Good luck!
