I’ve finally made a much (much) needed pincushion! Now that I’m using it I realize I should have 2 since i often pin in one location (often the kitchen table) and sew in another (my office) so in my office my pins still land on my desk waiting to be picked up!
Fabrics: Good Folks: Anna Maria Horner
Pattern: Square Deal by Heather Bailey
(yes, it’s missing a button in the middle — I’ll get to it when If find a cool big button – i don’t have any on hand!)

That is adorable! I was JUST looking at that Good Folks fabric last week and am itching to push that “add to your cart” button… this post may just push me over the edge!
Please share the secret of how you took that top photo! Is the pincushion on glass with the fabric underneath the glass? Your photos are always so gorgeous!

Hi Marina – thank you for the comment! I bought the fabric to make a beach blanket (still to be finished!!) I think it’s so colourful+fun!!
And yes, that’s how I took that photograph
I was holding the pincushion in my hand but since i didn’t want my fingers in the photograph I was only getting half the pincushion and then I thought if I used something I wouldn’t see under it it would give me the photo I wanted

thanks so much for letting me know, Annie! I showed my husband your photo and he said you probably elevated the pincushion and got a tighter focus on it with a super duper lense… I liked your solution better
I finally learned how to work the aperture setting on my camera last week… thank you so much for the inspiration you give me with your crafts and photography!
